Saturday, February 27, 2016 was a stellar date for our Region, as we celebrated “A Day with Jane Austen” at the Glendale Women’s Club. Breakfast was followed by the opening overview of the day’s events, by Paula Heil and Dr. Joan Ray.

Next in store was a workshop on Men’s Regency Neckwear, followed by author Kim Wilson, speaking on “Tea with Jane Austen.”

A lovely luncheon tea was followed by author Stephanie Barron, presenting “Inventing an Alternative Jane: The Jane Austen Mystery Series.”

The last presentation was “Dressing Mr. Knightley,” with Diane Gorham, whose good-natured husband Shawn served as model.

After dinner, guests returned for a Grand March, followed by Mr. Weston’s Ball, accompanied by the live music of The Syncopaths, with our own dear Peg Hesley as dance mistress.

Such a lovely time had by all, with 64 of our members and friend participating!
