Rose Servitova is an award-winning Irish author and essayist. Published widely, she claimed bronze at the International SPR Book Awards 2019, was shortlisted at the Flash Prize and twice at Listowel Writers Week for her humour essays.
Rose’s witty debut novel, The Longbourn Letters – The Correspondence between Mr Collins & Mr Bennet, was described as a ‘literary triumph’ on publication. Her second novel, a completing of Jane Austen’s unfinished work, The Watsons, has been hailed as ‘an extraordinary piece of work’. Rose is working on two pieces at the moment. The first is a completion of Austen’s final but unfinished work, Sanditon. The second is a historical fiction novel called Íde. It is about a forbidden relationship in oppressive 1930s Ireland.
Rose has made author appearances at literary events nationally and overseas including Bath’s Jane Austen Festival as well as online events for festivals, book-clubs and the Austen birthday celebration at Chawton House (2020). She also speaks in schools, libraries and universities.
Rose curated Jane Austen 200 – Limerick, a festival celebrating Limerick’s many links to Austen while nodding at its extensive Georgian heritage and has, since, regularly facilitated themed nostalgic afternoon tea events and literary and heritage events.
Rose lives in the South-West of Ireland with her husband Filip and children Laura and Charlie.
